Le forme della leggerezza nell’architettura contemporanea in legno

Contemporary wooden architectures’ new forms and typical forms derived from the traditional timber constructions are investigated in this essay which analyzes some recent buildings designed to be made with wood. Starting from the characteristics of the material, in the introductory essay of the thematic issue of the magazine, the figurative abilities of contemporary experiences conceived in continuity with the architectural tradition open the opportunity to reflect on the contribution that innovative techniques provide to obtain also complex shapes, at the same time consistent with the material.

Nuove forme e forme della tradizione dell’architettura contemporanea in legno sono indagato in questo saggio che analizza alcuni edifici recenti concepiti per essere realizzati con il legno. A partire dalle caratteristiche proprie del materiale, nel saggio introduttivo del numero tematico della rivista si ha l’occasione di riflettere sulle capacità figurative delle esperienze contemporanee pensate in continuità con la tradizione architettonica e sulle potenzialità che le tecniche innovative forniscono per ottenere forme complesse e al tempo stesso coerenti con il materiale.
